Nail Art: Flowers on the Side

There are several nail polishes sitting on my polish rack that still needs to be used. So the other night, I decided to scan through them and decided to use one for this particular floral nail art. I didn't have any idea in mind yet for the design. I just wanted to be spontaneous. After I did my manicure, I figured I wanted something dainty. I guess something floral will do the trick. I've painted quite a few with this nail design that you can check out here, here, and here. Yes, you can say that this is one of my several nail art designs that I never get tired of recreating. I'm sure most of you can relate to that. ;)

Nail Art: Paper Roses

There are several ways of painting roses. Here's another one that is relatively easy to do. I named this floral nail art "Paper Roses" mainly because it was my inspiration. I used to love origami and if I remember it correctly, it was my mom who taught me how to make roses using a gift wrapping ribbon. I drew this nail design as if it were papers folded to form roses. I hope you'll like it as much as I do.

Nail Art: Pretty Poppies

This floral nail art has been in my wishlist for a long time and I'm glad that I finally got around to doing it. I have seen several nail art enthusiasts create this design bringing in their own personal styles to it and I would like to be part of that roster. I find this such a dainty floral design.

Nail Art: Can't Get Enough of Lavender

I know a friend who doesn't like any shades of purple. But I also know a friend who loves purple. But this freehand nail art is not really purple. It's lavender. I wanted to try a subtle manicure like this and I think it's perfect for people who doesn't really enjoy getting so much attention on their nails with nail art. In person, you really can't see there is a design from a distance. But there is a surprise up close. Well, isn't nail art for yourself than it is for others?

Nail Art Tutorial: Looks Like Porcelain

I received a few requests to create a tutorial for one of my previous nail art designs -- the Porcelain Look. I finally got the chance to do it. But instead of doing the exact design, I decided to create something different that gives the same look. Nail Art: It's My Birthday

I am officially a year older. I turned 38 last May 25. I have been meaning to spend a birthday on an outdoor adventure. And after 3 years of trying, I finally did it this year. I initially wanted to spend it in Bohol. But the turn of events led me to celebrate my 38th in Palawan, Philippines.

I also planned to share my birthday nail art before I left for my trip. Unfortunately, I misread my flight schedule and had to rush to the airport so early in the morning to catch the plane. Instead, I brought with me my nail art kit and hoped that I will have time to do my nails while on vacation. Well, I was able to just in time for my special day.

Nail Art: Teal-y Flowers

Hello!

Okay, I know that I have been gone quite a long time. And before anything else, I'd like to say thank you for all those who sent me messages to find out how I am. I miss all of you and I really appreciate that you have been keeping in touch.

Life got a little busy and I'm having less time to do my nails. I have been traveling, too! And unfortunately, no amount of sunscreen prevented my now darker skintone that is now evident in the photos below. But hey, there is something that haven't change -- my love for nail art. I will continue to do this as long as I can. ;)

So, what am I sharing today? Well, it's a simple floral nail art design that you can wear for spring or actually, on any season. I already know what polish I wanted to use for base so I went with that first and hoped that I'll be able to come up with a nail art idea once I'm done polishing my nails. I needed something easy to do that doesn't require so much precision in painting. And this is what I came up with:

Nail Art: Pastel Floral on Nude

One of my favorite color from the Revlon Nude Expressions nail polish collection is Mocha. I wore it right after reviewing the entire collection. I wanted a floral nail design to go with it. The idea is rather simple. I payed more attention to the colors instead of the design. I'll let you judge for yourself if this resulted good or bad.

I want an ombre manicure. This was the inspiration for this floral nail art design. And surprisingly, I used a pink palette! My sister's love for the color is probably rubbing off on me. After painting my digits, I realized this is not the first time I used pink for an ombre nail art. Do you remember my pink birds nail art?

Flowers. That is all I can think about when I was brainstorming on what nail art design I should wear for this special occasion. Initially, I wanted to paint daisies but decided on something abstract instead.

I decided to do a nail art that is simple and dainty. I was feeling a little under the weather so I painted a simple floral pattern on my nails and hoped that it would turn out good. Honestly, I am not really sure what to feel about this nail art that I called Floral Pastel. Perhaps, I should let you judge for yourself.

Nail Art: Vintage Pink Roses

It's no secret that I am not a pink gal. But I've always wanted to create a nail art with the gray and pink combo. And I think I found a good excuse since it's Valentine's season!

I decided to paint pink roses with a vintage feel. I have done something similar a few months back that I called Bunch of Flowers. Usually, I don't really post nail art that I have previously done. But I'm starting to think that I should because I think different color palettes will yield different results to the same nail design. Do you think so, too?

Nail Art: A Blooming New Year (2013)

It's seems it was only yesterday that we celebrated the coming of 2012. Now, we are about to welcome another new year! Unlike all the years that passed, I'll be greeting 2013 differently. But I don't want to bore you with my drama. So let's just proceed with how I'll be wearing my nails for the new year!

I wanted something colorful, dainty, and fun. I've actually done this nail design before. I called it Fun With Flowers. And I thought I'd recreate it using a different color palette. I figured it would look great for the new year. Well, it's more of like it has an underlying for me. More on that in awhile.

Nail Art: A Closer Look on Flowers

Forgive me if I haven't been doing nail art for quite awhile. If you are already following the Simply Rins Facebook Page, you might remember one of my status messages wherein I said one of my nails broke really bad. It broke on the side, almost at the middle while I was fixing the zipper of my luggage. I was forced to cut it really short until the tear reaches the nail tip. Then, I had to wait for it to grow back to a decent length before I do some nail painting.

The length and shape is not yet how I'd like them but that's one of the good things about nail art. You can actually create a design that could camouflage or enhance the shape of your nails!

I decided on a simple floral design that is bold and feminine at the same time. I named this nail design, A Closer Look on Flowers because it is as if you're magnifying a flower on your nails. Hopefully, I have achieved my goal.

Deborah Lippmann Run the World ... and Some Flowers

Two months ago, my mother surprised me with this:

It's the Deborah Lippmann Run the World (Girls) neon minis collection and it comes with an interesting box. I've recently acquired a lemming for polish minis and I was completely amazed when nanay (mother) handed this to me because I didn't know that Deborah Lippmann released such a set. Needless to say, I loved it.

The box cover had a printed hand on it and the nails were cut off so the mini polishes inside could act as nail colors. Brilliant!

Nail Art: (for) Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is a yearly campaign that happens all around the world to help increase awareness about this sickness.

More people are being diagnosed with breast cancer every year. But because of the campaign, there are also more people surviving it. And being able to detect the cancer at a very early stage is very helpful. We are also reminded that even though knowledge is power, it is equally important to have a plan in action or what measures to take to overcome this illness.

I'd like to contribute to this campaign by posting 2 nail art ideas I came up with for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Nail Art: Bunch of Flowers

It is no secret that I love vampy colors on my nails. I think it makes my hands and feet look sexy. I have been trying brighter colors lately but my love for darker shades seems forever.

After two days of waiting for a nail art idea to come around, I caved in and decided to just polish my nails first and hope that the design would swing by soon. I had no problems choosing the shade that I wanted. "I want sexy nails!"

Now the challenge is to create a feminine nail design with a very dark polish as background color. I didn't have much time to paint my nails so I opted for something that was quite easy to do and didn't require much precision. I decided to paint flowers using random swirls and I think it worked well.

Nail Art: Blue Wave

I know that you have noticed that I have been slacking with nail art designs lately. Well, I had some reviews that I wanted to post first and I recently went on a trip with some bloggers all over the Philippines that gave me a hangover because I had so much fun! More on that trip, soon! And finally, because my nail on my right pinky finger broke that I had to patiently wait for it to grow a little so I can file them into a decent shape.

I simply called this nail design -- Blue Wave. I'm not so sure if the title fits the design though. The idea is to create a blue ombre manicure. But before I get into details, take a look at the outcome:

Nail Art Tutorial: Rose Buds (Remake)

Almost 2 months ago, I created a rose buds nail design and since then, I have received requests to upload a tutorial. I finally had a chance to recreate the design and prepare a video tutorial.

The first rose buds nail art I did had a white background and the roses were painted in black. For this remake, I used a different color scheme.

Nail Art: Playing With Scandalous

I slept early on a Friday night only to be awaken by a barking dog outside my studio at 2:30am. I couldn't sleep after that so I decided to finally take pictures of the nail art I have been wearing for 2 days. I don't normally wait this long to take photos of a design but I was actually testing how long the pearl beads would hold.
