For the meantime, let me share with you this nail art design that I submitted as an entry to Parokeets' Nail Art Challenge: Show Off Your Country. I've been meaning to do something like this and the challenge was the perfect opportunity to do a nail design that is inspired by my country, the Philippines.
Here's the nail design that I submitted:
Philippines nail design by Simply Rins
For base colors, that's 2 coats of Essie Blanc on my pointer finger, 2 coats of Faceshop BL602 on my middle finger for a sky background, and 2 coats of Elianto Turquiose on my pinky finger for an ocean background.
As for the Philippine flag that I painted on my ring finger, I used 2 coats of Elianto Blue Splash and 2 coats of China Glaze China Rouge for the blue and red respectively. I didn't paint our flag the conventional way because I wanted to emphasize the sun and stars.
I accompanied my entry with this explanation:
My inspiration for this nail art comes from the fact that the Philippines is rich in culture and attractions. We have some of the most beautiful tropical beaches in the world. Our country is also a diver’s paradise as we house an abundant marine life in many of our islands. But most importantly, we take pride in our people. Filipinos are known to be one of the friendliest and happiest people in the world. We can find joy in the simplest things.
Please visit Entries to Parokeets' Nail Art Contest to see the photos of the other participants. A poll vote was setup to determine the winning entry. To vote, simply login with your Google account here or click the "Login" link located at the bottom of the Parokeets' sidebar.
I'd like to say thank you to those who already voted and will vote for my entry. :)

ReplyDeleteChoose any metallic color for the base and bright colors for coating and polishing. Combining different colors for designing your nails is the best way to make them look attractive and glamorous.
