Nail Art: Sole Mate and Glowing

Before discovering Konad Stamping Nail Art, I was always on the look out for 3D nail art stickers. I find them easy to use and they look gorgeous. While I was arranging my nail stuff, I found a few nail art stickers and decided to use them. Here's the result:

Nail Art Sole Mate 01
This is 2 coats of Essie Sole Mate. When applied, it looks like plum in color. I applied 1 layer of top coat after placing the nail art stickers.

I was surprised though when I was about to sleep and turned off the lights.

Nail Art: Sex and the City 2

Ever since a confirmation was made last February 2009 that Sex and the City (the movie) will have a sequel, people have been anticipating its release in the cinemas. That includes me! What should I wear? What color should my nails wear? Haha!

Schedule of regular showing here in Manila was moved from May 27, 2010 to June 02, 2010. That's tomorrow! I will not be able to stand to not watch Sex and the City 2 on its first showing day so I've reserved 2 movie tickets in advance. What more is there than to watch a fabulous movie with my wonderful partner! :)

My expectations are quite high for the sequel as I really liked the 1st one. I have to wait for a few more hours to see the movie.

Nail Art: Gold and Flowers

I found nail stickers that can cover the entire nail while window shopping last weekend. I used them for this week's nail art.

Applications: 1 layer of base and top coat, 2 layers of Skin Food's gold nail polish

The colored nail polish is not necessary for this kind of nail art sticker since it can cover your entire nail. However, I don't have thin nails so I opted to apply a colored polish to cover the side of the nails. I originally planned to use a whiter shade as a base for the nail art stickers. I figured a whiter nail polish would help hide the part of the nail that will not be covered by the nail art sticker since the sticker has white glittery background. The golden polish will have to do for now. :)

Skin Food nail polish claims that it contains vitamin and keratin which actually prevents your nails from becoming brittle. This golden nail polish can be purchased at Skin Food shops. Branches can be found at major shopping malls. Their nail polish retails starting at Php195 per 13ml.

One blanket of the nail art stickers comes in 3 different designs. There are 10 stickers for each design. This retails at Php50 each. This is actually a bargain compared to having your nail art done in a nail salon that charges a minimum of Php15 per nail and increases depending on the intricacy of the nail art design!

Applying the nail art sticker is not difficult. Just gently peel off the sticker and press it down firmly on your nail. Apply a layer of colorless topcoat on the sticker and you're done! Don't worry if the sticker is too long for your nails. It is easy to cut it to fit your nail size. I do suggest applying the nail art sticker first before cutting it.

Nail Art: Flowers

I'm still in the mood for dark colored nail polish. For this week, I decided to wear Essie's Sole Mate. Under natural light, it looks like dark plum. The photo was taken under fluorescent light.

Applications: 1 layer of base and top coat, 2 layers of Essie's Sole Mate.

I usually only put nail stickers on my pointer and index finger as you have probably noticed in my previous posts on nail arts. I figured I'd go all the way this week by decorating all 10 hand fingernails!

I got these flower nail art stickers from Skin Food.

Nail Art: Happy Valentine's Day

In the eve of Valentine's Day, I had my nails done. I can't seem to go through a V-day without painting my nails red. Well, that's just me. I figured I needed to add something more when I got home. To keep it simple, I placed 1 heart nail art sticker to my index finger in both my hands. As a single gal, I hope that everytime I'll look into that heart sticker I'll be reminded that love comes in all forms ... that one is NOT a lonely number because I have friends who will always have my back no matter what.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Nail Art: Blue Suede

Orly released a new line last September 2009 -- the Matte Couture Collection. For this week, I tried the Blue Suede. This look has 1 layer of base coat, 2 layers of Orly Blue Suede and 1 layer of top coat. I'm not fond of matte finish so I still applied a layer of shiny top coat.

The flowers and butterfly design are actually nail stickers that you can buy at leading department stores and beauty shops. I love butterflies so you'll be seeing a lot of them here.
