Nail Art: Ribbon Tips

I was cleaning my helmer the other night and it made me realize I still have a lot of unused nail polishes. I guess polishes that sit at the back are often ignored or forgotten. And so after that night, I decided to make sure to clean my helmer at least twice a week so I can rearrange my nail polishes and remember the gorgeous nail polishes hiding at the rear of other lacquers.

This ribbon nail art design is a result of finding an untried nail polish and grooming a dog named Mumay. You see, our dog is a Lhasa Apso and she has long hair. I often brush it and finish with a ribbon on her head. The night I was polishing my nails, I didn't have an idea what design I wanted until I saw Mumay and decided I should do ribbon tips!

Base color is 2 coats of Lucidarling that doesn't have a code on the bottle. The color is somewhat bluish green. The photos are color accurate. Application is superb for a glitter nail polish.

I did something similar to this when I painted my Christmas Gift Boxes Nail Art. But this time, the ribbons were painted on the free edge that acted like french tips. I painted the ribbons white and added black outline for details.

Here's a closer image of the nail design:

This is one of my nail art designs that I would love to do in black and white. It would probably look amazing during a formal affair. It would look so classic and regal. Perhaps I can do a black and white series for a month of some of my nail designs. *light bulb!*

Please forgive the small wound on my middle finger. I really don't know where I get those most of the time.

Again, I'm not so sure if this shade complements my skin tone but I really do love it. I can think of other alternatives for this design aside from making it on black and white. Perhaps a glittered ribbon would look lovely or to paint the ribbon near the cuticle area instead. I'll be trying them in the future. :)

Are you fond of ribbons? What do you think of my ribbon tips nail art?

P.S. I have been receiving nail art suggestions and I would like to let you know that I haven't forgotten them. I will be trying to squeeze in requests. If you have other ideas in mind, please join us on Facebook.
