It is only apt that I start with this color as it launched 4 more gorgeous shades:

Above is Deborah Lippmann Mermaid's Dream. This is a glittered shimmer polish that is highly sheer. I used 3 coats for complete opacity. No problem with consistency and application. It has a light green base with scattered blue glitters and it was described as:
"The mystery of the ocean has always intrigued me. This shade is my interpretation of life under the sea—magical, fantastical and ethereal. I love how the small flecks of glitter catch the light and appear to float off the nail."
I am not particularly fond of this next one.

This is Deborah Lippmann Million Dollar Mermaid applied in 3 coats for 100% opacity. Very sheer, but very manageable consistency and application. It has a peachy base with orange glitters.
I am bias when it comes to nude polishes because I think they don't suit my skin color. I am sure that this color would look better on fairer skin.

Next is Deborah Lippmann Mermaid's Eyes. It is the most opaque among the 5 colors in the collection. But I still applied 3 coats for full opacity. I also observed that it has the least glitters too. Or perhaps I just had a bad bottle? Regardless, it happens to be my 2nd favorite in the set. Application is a breeze and it has good consistency.
What follows is the most feminine in my opinion.

Behold, Deborah Lippmann Mermaid's Kiss. I used 3 coats for complete coverage. I was tempted to do 4. It's so pretty! It has the most shimmer in the collection. Base appears to be purplish pink with fuschia glitters. Had no problem with application and consistency was just right. If you like subtlety with a twist, this polish is for you.

Finally we have Deborah Lippmann Do the Mermaid in 3 coats. Still very sheer with non-problematic consistency and application. This is my absolute favorite among the 5 polishes in the Mermaid Collection. Which is surprisingly actually, because I am not really fond of lavender or any of its shades. But there are times that I find a polish that interests me. Like this one!
I rarely wear glitter or shimmer polish on my nails because I prefer jelly or creme for nail art. But I do wear them on my toes. And I should say that I am having a blast alternating these colors! They look gorgeous under the sun.
Do you have the Deborah Lippmann Mermaid Collection? What is your favorite among the 5 colors?

it's such a beautiful collection! i specially like mermaid's dream and mermaid's kiss ;)
ReplyDeleteI love all the colors especially the mermaids, but I do disagree with you about the second shade. It looks beautiful on you. I'm part Filipino and Black so it's hard for me to wear light tones and neon colors 'coz it makes my fingers look terribly dark and uneven. But I'll wear that if ever I get my hands on that collection. Hehehe. I love your artworks by the way. You're an amazing artist. I wish I could draw better to create good nail art designs but I can't even draw a stick figure hahaha. Today's my first time I landed on your page, I surely will look forward to your future blogs. I like it. Have a nice day, thanks. ~Welch.
