Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel

It seems that the world is moving too fast. There's too much things to do with too little time. Time is becoming a luxury and even if having well-polished nails has become a lifestyle, going to a nail salon for a manicure can't be easily included on our schedule. The nail polish industry understands this and brands are now becoming conscious on coming up with polishes that stay beautiful on your nails for several days with minor or without chipping.

Revlon introduced its ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel polish line that addressed that particular concern of not having to change your manicure as often because it chipped within a few days.

The collection comes with its own base coat and top coat that is recommended to be used with the ColorStay polishes to get that long wearing results.

As a nail artist or simply someone that loves to color my nails, I usually change my polish at least once a week unless I really like a particular nail design that I painted on my nails. I am also not fond of seeing an obvious gap between the cuticle area and the polish. And so for me, I admire a brand that can stay on my nails with no or minor chipping for at least 5 days.

When I tested The Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel collection, it stayed on my nails impressively for 5 days.

It also comes with a unique brush system that fans really well that makes application easier. I am still a fan of long and slim polish brushes because I have small nail beds, but I am sure you'll be able to appreciate Revlon ColorStay's wide brush.

The collection consists of 32 shades. I'd like to share with you a few colors.

Revlon ColorStay Marmalade

Let me start with Revlon Marmalade, a orange-y polish that applies smoothly. It is slightly sheered and 2 coats is enough to achieve full coverage. I found this to be an attractive color but doesn't appear too flashy.

Revlon ColorStay Bold Sangria

This next shade reminds me of an eggplant which is funny. Revlon Bold Sangria is a dark violet creme polish that is named after a wine punch that resembles its color. The funny thing was that I really didn't know what sangria is until I looked it up because I don't really drink. If I knew beforehand what it referred to, I would probably have not said eggplant. Anyway, Bold Sangria has a slightly thick consistency that made brush strokes visible during application. This can be easily resolved by adding the second layer lightly. I don't have a lot of purples on my stash and I'm glad I have this now.

Revlon ColorStay Passionate Pink

Pink is a color I know my sister likes and I'm sure she'll love Revlon ColorStay Passionate Pink too. It's a basic pink polish, not so bright but lovely nonetheless. Opacity is not a problem here. I used 2 coats and application is a breeze. This shade is fun and will make you appreciate being a girl any day!

Revlon ColorStay Stiletto

Aside from white, I consider black to be a staple color to any nail artist. I am no exception and although basic black is a very straight-forward shade, I still have a few from various brands. And now, I have Revlon ColorStay Stiletto on my polish rack. It has excellent consistency and opaque in 2 coats. I've always liked black on my nails, especially on my toes. I find it really sexy on the nails and I think that's why Revlon called it Stiletto.

Revlon ColorStay Bare Bones

Next in line is Revlon ColorStay Bare Bones, a nude creme nail lacquer that looks rather professional. Well, I always get that impression with nudes because I know some ladies working in corporate offices that prefers such shades. I used 2 coats for complete coverage. Easy application and great consistency. I would recommend this color to nail art enthusiasts because I consider nudes to be a good base color for a lot of nail designs.

Revlon ColorStay Fall Mood

Revlon ColorStay Fall Mood is a bronze glitter polish. I'm indifferent to this color as I am not really fond of glitters. I applied 2 layers for full opacity. Application is as easy as 1-2-3, I think most glitter polishes are, which is one of the things I like about it. This would probably look amazing if worn during a formal occasion. It is shiny and subtle at the same time.

Revlon ColorStay Red Carpet

Red! Red! Red! A color I will never get tired of. Revlon ColorStay Red Carpet in 2 coats is gorgeous. Yes, I am biased to this color. It's a basic creme red that is not too loud. I had no problem with application and consistency was excellent. If you're not comfortable with wearing red and would like to try getting familiar with the shade, I would suggest you try Red Carpet.

Revlon ColorStay French Roast

I also like brown on my nails. I feel that it complements my skin tone quite well. And so when I saw Revlon ColorStay French Roast, I knew immediately that I would love it on. It is a rich brown lacquer with subtle hints of colorful flecks. Absolutely lovely! Take a closer look:

I used 2 coats of French Roast for full opacity. Application is easy and consistency is wonderful. This is one of the colors I consider sexy on my nails. Sometimes, plain polishes can get boring and flecks can make up for this. I suggest you get French Roast if you like polishes with a twist.

Revlon ColorStay Rainforest
Revlon ColorStay Rainforest

I saved for last my favorite. This is Revlon ColorStay Rainforest, a dark green polish with very visible glass flecks that really gives depth to the finish. Simply gorgeous. I let my sister wore this color and she loved it too. Great consistency and can be applied smoothly. You'll need 2 coats for complete coverage. If you like vampy colors such as myself, I'm sure you'll like this one because it gives you something extra. Don't you think so?

There are a few more shades from the ColorStay collection that looks really interesting -- Sorbet, Bonsai, Coastal Surf, Stormy Night, and Spanish Moss.

Have you tried Revlon ColorStay? Any favorites?

I mentioned in the post that I had one of the polishes on for 5 days and didn't experience any chipping. For me, that is already amazing as I often change my polish. :)

  10. Beautiful! I love that they named the black polish "Stiletto", which I think is very fitting. I only own one from this line called "Midnight" and it is stunning. (It's a deep blue teal.)
