Nail Art: Loops

Are you looking for inspiration for a nail art design?

Have you experienced some sort of artist block and can't seem to decide what design you'd like to paint your nails?

Well, if you answered yes to either of these questions, this nail art is for you ... as it was for me too. After weeks of not doing some nail art painting, I didn't really know what design I wanted. I had a few ideas but none appealed to my mood. Simply put, I was confused. But regardless of my indecisiveness, I mixed some paint and got my favorite nail art brush to jumpstart things. I then started painting random loops on one nail and was surprised to have liked the outcome.

The design looks like scribbles and I liked it. What better design can suit the disposition I was in, right? And the best thing was, it allowed me to just let go and let the brush glide to any direction.


China Glaze Exotic Encounters
I used 2 coats of China Glaze Exotic Encounters as base color for this nail art. It was part of a recent polish haul from the China Glaze Safari Collection. I really wasn't that attractive to the bottle color but immediately after applying it to my nails, I have to say that the color is simply gorgeous. I think it made my skin look lighter.

Exotic Encounters was described by China Glaze as lush green creme with blue undertones and it is pretty accurate. Consistency was great, not too thick. I got full opacity with 2 thin coats.


I hand painted the design using a detailing nail art brush and acrylic paints.

White paint would have been a good choice too for the loops but I decided to add some yellow paint to create a cream shade that I thought would be a better complementary color for the background color.


Looking at this particular nail design can be confusing because you (or other people) don't really know how to call it. But I think it's part of its charm. It makes it interesting that way, don't you think so? :) But on the other hand, I sometimes feel the loops will just confuse me more. At least I named this nail art right because this paragraph is looping or is it just confusing?


I wish I could say I had a breeze painting this design because initially, I really thought I would not have any problems. Well, it wasn't so difficult when I was using my dominant hand to paint the loops. But it was challenging to paint curves using my weaker hand. Nevertheless, I still believe the experience was worthwhile because it taught me that spontaneity can sometimes result to something beautiful ... or at least something interesting.
