This is a Cookie Monster and Elmo nail art and honestly, I made 2 attempts for this design. I was not quite satisfied with how the first one turned out. Here's the result of the second attempt:

Second Attempt
I retained the idea of painting 2 different color background for each hand or for each cartoon character for both attempts. Blue for the Cookie Monster hand (left) and red for the Elmo hand (right). I also painted a polka dots pattern on all my nails, except the accent nails, on both occasions.
Here is a photo of my first attempt:

First Attempt
Features of 1st attempt:
- Two coatings for each of Sally Hansen Thinking of Blue for the blue base color and Orly Monroe's Red for the red. Etude House WH001, in 2 coatings as base color for both accent nails.
- I painted both Cookie Monster and Elmo with a full frontal view.
I felt awkward looking at my nails with the results of the 1st attempt because of 2 things. First, I felt my nails were too narrow for the wide faces of Cookie Monster and Elmo. Perhaps I could have adjusted the eyes in a manner that it will take up the entire width of my nail. Second, Sally Hansen Thinking of Blue didn't match my Cookie Monster blue color.
Anyway, I redid my entire left hand (Cookie Monster) using a different base color. I used 2 coats of Alessandro Crazy Lazy 77-161 that Nanay gave me as a gift from a recent trip for the blue themed hand. She gave me 3 bottles of the same brand that I absolutely love. I had no problem with consistency and application.
I still used Etude House WH001 as background color for the accent nails.

Elmo and Cookie Monster were painted using acrylic paints. And this time, I did a 3/4 perspective for both characters. To achieve the effect, I painted the eye near the side of nail bigger. I liked this result better than the previous attempt.

For the Elmo hand, I still used Orly Monroe's Red for the red theme.
Please forgive the mess I made when I applied my top coat. I got a bit impatient and some of my polka dots smudged when I was sealing my design.
I hope you liked my version of Cookie Monster and Elmo nail art design. For those that have been following my blog for quite some time now, you know how I love the idea of characters that seem to peep out of my nails. For Elmo and Cookie Monster, I decided that the movement is better if it comes from the side. :)
Have you worn different themes or colors on each hand before? If not, will you consider wearing a design like this? I would love to know your thoughts about this design.
