Wedding Nail Art (s)

Little Sister's Wedding Nails 01
I'm sorry for the lack of post for almost a week. It has been busy these past few days. I did wedding nail designs this weekend. Why? Well, my little sister got married this weekend! Hooray! It was a week of mixed emotions for everyone in our family but we are all happy for her. She's currently in her honeymoon and I've already had much sleep to be able to do this post.

Before anything else, I'd like to thank my partner who patiently assisted me in accomplishing my responsibilities as the maid of honor and handled my camera to take photos of the wedding. Thanks also to my closest friends who helped me solve some technical problems with my laptop that was used for the event and took pictures as well all throughout the occasion.

This is the dress I wore and that's my partner right behind me. The photo was taken by my good friend Don Trivino. The color motif for the wedding is fuschia with black and light blue accent.

I decided to create a black and white nail design for my sister's big day since all my accessories (bag and shoes) were black. This is what I came up with:

To those of you who noticed, no, my nails didn't grow this long in just a few days. I actually broke 2 more nails last week and I was really saddened. I didn't want to attend my sister's wedding with too short nails. Breakage was bad because the nails broke at the sides. So 2 days before the big event, I decided to try wearing acrylic nails. I don't know how to it myself so I sought the help of one of my favorite nail technicians whom I trust to do my acrylic nails. My nails are courtesy of Janice of Bamboo Nail Spa.

I used 2 coats of Orly Goth for my black tips and white Konad special polish for stamping the white bow.

I was aiming for a simple but elegant nail design so I thought of playing around the idea of a french manicure. I painted the Orly Goth to almost half my nail before stamping the polka dots big bow from Konad m59 image plate.

This nail art actually reminded me of my Christmas gift boxes nail art. But this time, I didn't freehand the ribbons.

I did my sister's bridal nail art the night before her big day. She wanted something simple and this is what I came up with:

Her base color is Maybeline Born With It in 3 coatings. The polish was really sheer. Stamped with a design from Konad m35 image plate and used white Konad special polish for stamping. I added fuschia beads as accent.

I did our Nanay's nails also 2 days before the wedding. Here's a photo of all our nail designs:

On Nanay's, I used 2 coats of Orly Tennis Anyone? and used white Konad special polish to stamp a rose image from BM14.

Congratulations sis! :)

  9. Congratulations to your sister! She's lucky to have a sister like you to do such beautiful nail designs for her big day.

I ADORE your nails in these pictures, such a simple but elegant design. I have a major thing for bows (I even have one tattooed on my wrist) so it was automatic love for me. And the bride's nails are so delicate and feminine, just perfect. Love your Nanay's design too! Very classy and pretty.

  15. Hi, Shen! Check out the Konad multiply site at http://konadph.multiply.com to see a list of their outlets. I'm sure you can find one that's accessible to where you live. :) Thanks, I love the bows too.
