The other item is a digital camera. For years, I've been borrowing the camera of my sister or my mother whenever I needed one. But sometimes, circumstances leave me without one and I regret not owning one when there are shots I want to take. Luckily, my mother handed me her old camcorder when she bought a new one last year. But I wanted to take good quality pictures and have the camera with me all the time. So I asked my friends for a worthy compact digital camera. A good friend suggested the Panasonic Lumix LX3.
After months and months of reading reviews and scouting for dealers and waiting and saving and hoping for the price of the Lumix LX3 to go down, I finally got my very own last Tuesday, June 08, 2010 at Pixel Pro in Virramall Shopping Center, Greenhills. This is me, filling out the service warranty form. Thanks to my partner for taking the picture!
Yes, this is it! My Panasonic Lumix LX3, which my partner and I named Lara. Okay, I confess that I am a fan of Angelina Jolie and honestly, her role as Lara Croft is my favorite. :) This gadget is simply cool and deserves a very cool name, thus ... Lara. One of my habits is marking my gadgets with stickers. Wendy (my Intuos 4) got the butterflies. It's hearts for precious Lara.
Here are some sample shots I took with the Lumix LX3. Yeah, I need lotsa lotsa practice.
This is a macro shot. I was fixing my coins when I took this shot. Since my birthday lands on a 25th, I figured I'd use the 25-centavo coin as the highlight.
I had several (really) attempts before I was able to do these pictures. I was playing with manually adjusting the focus.
As much as I want to mention the technical side of the Panasonic Lumix LX3, I know I will not be able to do it justice. So I'm sharing with you some of the reviews that I read that helped me in my decision to finally buy the Lumix LX3.

Hi Meg! I bought mine at Pixel Pro, 3Flr. Virramall, Greenhills. Iba yung price for cash and installment. P20k sa cash, P29 sa 0% installment basis. :)
ReplyDeleteCool! Not bad.. but point and shoot lang din sya di ba?
ReplyDeleteYes, classified as point and shoot pero yung quality ng pictures nya is really good, at par with dslr cameras. Dami rin nyang features that you can play with within the manual setting. :)
