The Philippines is one of the several countries supporting this cause -- Walk the World: Isang Hakbang Pilipinas 2010. The event was held last Sunday, June 06, 2010 at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Here in the Philippines, the event will be supporting more than 75,000 school children in 428 schools in conflict-affected areas in Mindanao.
It was a little different this year. Organizers involved runners by providing a 5km run alongside the annual 1km walk.

End Hunger: Walk the World is an annual event to raise money and awareness for World Food Programme's (WFP)efforts to fight child hunger and malnutrition.
WFP is joined by TNT, Unilever, and DSM in bringing forth this global walk against hunger and malnutrition. It was launched by TNT in 2003 and has been the largest global fund raising event since then.
I seldom join running events and I haven't been working out regularly lately. So last Sunday, I knew my legs will get sore after my 5km run participation in Walk the World Philippines 2010. True to my expectation, the muscles in my legs are hurting like crazy right now. But the sore is worth it. I know that I share the same sentiments with my fellow Pinoys who walked or run yesterday who helped WFP in its fight against hunger.

My partner and I posing at the finish line. I wanted to wear the Walk the World shirt. Unfortunately, the smallest size was still large for my very petite frame.

With my sister, the bluefoot runner, who recently finished her 1st 21km run during the Nature Valley Run 2010 last May.
