Christmas cupcake nail art by Simply Rins
After applying a layer of base coat, I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen Emerald City for the cupcake holder. I painted a red cupcake first using OPI Color So Hot It Burns with white acrylic paint as base. I added white frosting using Lucidarling white and sprinkled (so to speak) gold micro beads to complete the Christmas cupcake nail art.

If only these cupcakes are real!
In my original cupcake post, a reader asked me about bleeding micro beads when applying top coat so I did a little experiment. I use several brands of top coats and some of them caused the beads to bleed. I figured it must have something to do with the composition of the top coat. So far, among my stash of top coats, Sally Hansen Insta-Dry and Poshe Super Fast Drying top coat didn't make the micro beads bleed. I hope this helps when you'll do nail art with beads. Please use the comment section if you know of other top coat brands that works well with micro beads.

You can experiment with colors for this design.
I was also thinking of just a plain white cupcake and add Christmas colors as sprinkles!

This has been my 3rd installment for this month's Christmas nail art. I still have a long way to go and hopefully you'll like what I'll be sharing with you for this month. If you have any suggestions or ideas, please let me know. :)

Perhaps pastry shops can come up with cupcake designs for Christmas as well!
