Ice Cream: Comfort Food

I wasn't feeling all that well so I decided to stay home on a Friday night. But my evening turned out much better than I hoped for ...

My friend Vic brought his desktop to my shop last night for repairs. As we were trying to figure out what was wrong with it, we came to talking about another friend who seemed problematic. So we called him and convinced him to come join us for dessert. At first, Pads (our friend) was hesitant to comply. But Vic and I were stubborn to accept excuses so we decided that the best way to convince Pads to go is to kidnap him! Well, of course in a very nice way! Haha! We surprised him in his home and didn't leave until he joins us for dessert! The kidnap was a success!

All 3 of us were feeling a little down. We needed comfort food! Why is it that most people associate comfort food with desserts, particularly ice cream? I only had one place in mind to take 2 of my closest friends -- Iceberg's! Yes, after my misadventure last Tuesday, I had to go back and redeem myself! Haha!

I am (still is) missing someone for reasons I cannot understand! Vic is having career problems and Pads is having a hard time at home. There's no better way to talk about all our feelings than to have ice cream to share. We knew it would be a relatively long night so we ordered some decent food first. We shared these as well. The highlight of the evening was my treat -- King Kong Ice Cream!

Iceberg's King Kong is composed of 5 scoops of ice cream, banana slices, pineapple slices, brownies, and whipped cream topped with a cherry. Of course the food and the ice cream helped us in lifting the personal loads that each of us were carrying. But what really helped is the company of good friends that will make you laugh no matter how down you are.

I'm looking forward to more nights like this.
