Nail Art: Angry Birds

This is definitely another fun nail art.

Are you familiar with the Angry Birds? You probably are if you use an iPhone or an Android phone. It's probably the most popular puzzle video game today. I got familiar with it only last month when I went out of town with friends who play this game on their phones during idle times. As much as I wanted to get hooked, I simply do not own a mobile phone wherein I can install this game. But when I found out there's a PC version of the game, I immediately installed it in my laptop. I haven't finished the game yet but I finished my version of Angry Birds nail design!

I literally was angry while doing this nail art. Have you experienced a moment during a nail art session wherein things aren't going your way? I had mine while doing this design. I was so clumsy I keep ruining my polish or the nail brush isn't cooperating with me. When I finally finished my first attempt, I wasn't so satisfied with the results that I ended removing everything and decided I'd sleep instead and attempt to do it again the next day.

Nail Art: Facebook

Earlier this week, I was talking to my partner regarding a small contest or giveaway that I'll be posting within the week. He had amazing ideas and suggestions. One of which is this nail art he thought would look great as a backdrop for the welcome page of Simply Rins' Facebook.

This nail design have 2 accent nails. But instead of having an accent nail on both hands, we (my partner and I) decided to have it on 1 hand. I used 2 coats of OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui as base color. Among my stash, I found this shade the closest to the the Facebook blue color. I used 2 coats of Essie Blanc on my left hand's ring finger.

Christmas Nail Art: Wreaths

Today's Christmas nail art is religiously inspired. I still wanted to create a Christmas nail design that would showcase the popular colors of the holidays -- red, green, and gold. I also wanted something consistent on all nails. And so, no accent nails for this particular Christmas nail art. Since we put up decorations during the holidays, I decided to decorate my nails with Christmas wreaths!

I used Lucidarling White as base color. You may choose to use other shades of white polish for your base. But I do like this particular shade because of its shimmer that adds something extra that's apt for the season. :)

Nail Art: Garfield

After doing a Snoopy nail art, I thought it is most apt to do a nail art of the most famous cat in the world next. And so, I share with you another colorful nail design with my Garfield nail art! Yes, it seems like I'm into a cartoon mood this past few weeks.

I have three (3) accent nails again for this design. I painted Garfield, Jon, and Odie on 3 nails and left the others in plain colors. I also went a little crazy by painting different colors on each hand. I really like how this mani turned out.

Nail Art: Harry Potter Characters

I confess that I went a little crazy and decided to do another Harry Potter nail art with 10 characters from the movie. I must say that this is perhaps the hardest challenge I gave myself. Freehand painting Harry Potter characters on my 10 nails tested my endurance. It took me hours (many!) to finish this nail art design. Yes, this is how much I love the Harry Potter series! :)

Since I don't have any false nails to practice with, what I always do is draw my designs on paper first. Sometimes, I use colored pens to have an idea what it will look like in colors. This Harry Potter nail art, is again, in cartoons! I hope you will be able to recognize the characters.

As you can see, I also went crazy with the base colors. I think it has to do with the fact that I'm trying to cheer myself up. I'm feeling quite low recently.

Nail Art: Caronia Butterfly

This nail art is a tribute to Caronia Philippines who provided gift packs of nail products for my 1st nail art contest. One of which is included for the winner. The others will serve as prizes for another contest. *wink* They also gave me a personal gift pack that contained the 4 shades of the Bright Nights Collection that they introduced to the market this month together with other nail care products.

I wanted a nail design that will showcase all 4 glittery colors of the latest Caronia nail polish collection and this is what I came up with:

Nail Art Caronia Butterfly 10
I simply called it Caronia Butterfly.

Well, you all know me and my inclination for accent nails. I freehand painted a butterfly on both my ring fingernails and polished the other nails with each of the Bright Night Collection. I also used the same collection for the butterflies.

Nail Art: Halloween Dracula Bit My Nail

My project to create Halloween nail art for the whole of month of October is officially over with this 9th installment. As I reviewed my previous Halloween nail designs, I realized I haven't done anything with my favorite color! I just couldn't let the month end without a red inspired Halloween nail art.

Earlier this month, I went to Duty Free with my parents and bought a few Essie nail polishes that was on sale. I used two of those for this particular nail design. This is also my first time to do different accent nails on both hands. :)

I named this, Dracula Bit My Nail.

I drew Count Dracula on my left ring fingernail and a dripping blood on my right ring fingernail.

Nail Art: Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I've been meaning to do a nail art for this. Last night, I was able to do something simple to show my support to this cause. Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women, regardless of race. And so, it is very important for women to know the facts of this disease.

I know this is a small effort on my part to spread breast cancer awareness and I'm hoping that through my personal blog, I'll be able to help spread knowledge about this sickness.

This is the breast cancer awareness nail art I came up with:

Nail Art Breast Cancer Awareness 02
A simple design for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Nail Art: Autumn

This is another nail art I wore last week that I wasn't able to post because of my busy schedule. I meant to submit this as an entry to a nail art challenge but I failed to submit it before the deadline simply because I forgot. The challenge was to create a nail design that is autumn inspired.

Nail Art: Cupcakes

I can't exactly remember where I saw a cupcake inspired nail art, but for today, I decided to give it a try. Here's my original version:

Nail Art Cupcakes 08
Cupcakes with sprinkles!

I used the following nail polishes for this cupcake nail art:

Nail Art Cupcakes 05

- Orly Top 2 Bottom Base and Top Coat
- Caronia Brick Red
- Essie Au Natural
- Faceshop PP403 (the purple nail polish)
- White nail polish with tip

Nail Art: Sole Mate and Glowing

Before discovering Konad Stamping Nail Art, I was always on the look out for 3D nail art stickers. I find them easy to use and they look gorgeous. While I was arranging my nail stuff, I found a few nail art stickers and decided to use them. Here's the result:

Nail Art Sole Mate 01
This is 2 coats of Essie Sole Mate. When applied, it looks like plum in color. I applied 1 layer of top coat after placing the nail art stickers.

I was surprised though when I was about to sleep and turned off the lights.

Nail Art: Flowers

I'm still in the mood for dark colored nail polish. For this week, I decided to wear Essie's Sole Mate. Under natural light, it looks like dark plum. The photo was taken under fluorescent light.

Applications: 1 layer of base and top coat, 2 layers of Essie's Sole Mate.

I usually only put nail stickers on my pointer and index finger as you have probably noticed in my previous posts on nail arts. I figured I'd go all the way this week by decorating all 10 hand fingernails!

I got these flower nail art stickers from Skin Food.
